Exciting Progress as Construction Moves Forward
Darling Green Country Estate is buzzing with activity as we continue to build a thriving community. As of 26 March 2025, seven homes have been completed and occupied, with 7 families now residing on the estate. Construction is actively underway on 12 sites – 6 private residences and 6 Village Post sites. Additionally, 6 private residential plans have been approved and are ready to commence, while 13 plans (9 private and 4 Village Post) are still pending approval. The estate continues to experience steady growth, requiring ongoing coordination and planning to accommodate increasing development. Homeowners are also adding their own touch, with beautifully landscaped gardens starting to take shape. Every milestone brings us closer to realising our vision of a connected and vibrant community.
A Leadership Transition: Ralph’s Legacy Continues
After years of dedicated service, Ralph will be stepping back from a few of his roles to make way for a growing team. While he’s not leaving us just yet, he will be passing responsibilities to new editions to our teams, who will officially be introduced next month. Without Ralph’s invaluable contributions, Darling Green Country Estate wouldn’t be what it is today, and we’re incredibly grateful for his continued guidance and leadership.
Solar Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony – A Major Step Toward Sustainability
On 13 March 2025, Darling Green Country Estate celebrated a significant milestone with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for our solar farm. This event marked the culmination of years of planning, innovation, and commitment to creating a more sustainable future for our community. The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including representatives from Sustainable Power Solutions (SPS), Swartland municipal officials, and estate residents, all eager to witness the launch of this pioneering renewable energy initiative.
The solar farm is set to reduce energy costs for homeowners, while significantly lowering the estate’s carbon footprint. This initiative aligns with our goal of fostering an eco-conscious and self-sufficient community. Guests at the event had the opportunity to tour the solar installation, learn more about the technology powering this development, and hear from experts on the long-term benefits of solar energy. The success of this project would not have been possible without the dedication of Sustainable Power Solutions (SPS), our project partners, and the hardworking team behind the scenes. Giving Back: Grade 1 Sponsorship Ceremony
In collaboration with SPS, Civils 2000, and BH Ventures, Swartland Municipality and Darling Green Country Estate came together to make a lasting impact on our local schools. We were honoured to be joined by Mayor Harold Cleophas and Ward Councillor AK Warnick. Our journey took us to four schools in and around Darling: Vooruitsig Primary School, Koranrug Primary School, Morning Star NGK Primary School, and Darling Primary School. At each stop, we were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm by the staff, students, and principals.
The Grade 1 Project Boards are an innovative educational tool for young learners. One side features a chalkboard with the alphabet, while the other side displays the times table. While it may seem simple to celebrate chalkboards, the concept behind these boards is brilliant: they allow students to practice writing and spelling without using paper, helping to conserve valuable resources. On this day we also had one of our very own homeowners joining us – below you can read what Kirsten experienced firsthand.
I am truly grateful to have been part of this initiative. Witnessing the happiness we brought to these young learners was an unforgettable experience. Darling Green Country Estate’s contribution to both Darling and the Swartland Municipality is remarkable. Seeing a team of eight adults step away from their daily work to connect with the innocence and joy of young students was incredibly moving.

With a reputation for excellence built over two decades, TOTALCARE’s expansion into Darling reflects the growing demand for top-tier retirement and healthcare facilities in the region. The village will feature 206 homes (Oude Post Homes) ranging from 1 to 3 bedrooms, offering comfort and flexibility for various lifestyle preferences. At the heart of the village will be a central TOTALCARE facility, providing 96 life rights for sale and 20 frail care beds (Oude Post Care), ensuring residents have access to high-quality care and support.
